Lantra Highways England Common Induction

The cost of this course in Rainham, Kent is £130 plus VAT (£156 Total cost)
(These costs  include exams and all associated costs.)

This is a mandatory induction course for anyone visiting or working on the Highways England Strategic Road Network (SRN).

A lack of training and awareness of danger can lead to poor safety records which can have serious repercussions on organisations, employees and the wider community. This course will tackle those issues.

Course Content

Our course is classroom-based.

We’ll enhance your understanding of what constitutes a safer working environment.

You’ll learn about the issues surrounding health and safety.

The principle hazards and risks relating to the SRN, key legislation and best practice will also be covered.

The day will end with a test which you’ll need to pass to conclude the induction process.

Who should attend
This course is recognised as best practice for those visiting or working on the Highways England Strategic Road Network (SRN).

Assessment & Award
By the end of this course, you’ll:

  • Understand what is Customer Service to Highways England and the Supply Chain
  • Understand the main requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act
  • Gain an overview of Highways England’s minimum expectation for working on their strategic road network (SRN)
  • Gain a basic understanding of temporary traffic management
  • Be able to review fatal risks that occur when working on the SRN
  • Be able to identify the essential health and wellbeing points to consider in the workplace
  • Be able to identify and describe main environmental issues found on sites
  • State the impact upon themselves, their lives and their families and friends of a serious accident at work
  • Be able to identify examples of poor behaviour on a works site
  • Be able to describe how health and safety knowledge and good working practice can improve behaviour on a works site
  • Successfully undertake end of course test (pass mark 75%).

This is a one day course 8.30 am – 5 pm.

The Certificate lasts for a number of years, after which the course would need to be retaken in order to renew the certificate and keep the qualification up-to-date.

Typical fees for this course is £130 plus VAT per person at our training rooms in Rainham. However, this can vary for in-house courses (dependant on location).

We regularly run our LANTRA courses in our Training Centre in Rainham Kent, or we are happy to travel to your location if suitable facilities are available. We cover the whole of the UK so would be happy to travel to anywhere you need your course.

Polite notice
It pays to be selective when booking training courses because not all training providers are what they appear to be. When booking a LANTRA Course you need to feel assured that your training provider is fully accredited to provide that training and is not then going to sub-contract the work.
